Randy was formerly a tax controversy attorney for the Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service (IRS). In 2014, Bampfield was promoted from senior attorney to senior counsel. In both 2007 and 2009, Bampfield won the Litigation Award for successfully arguing cases resulting in new tax law. He also served as an IRS instructor for courses in Expert Witness Preparation and Advanced Trial Advocacy.
