Camp Thunder VPA is a 1,627-acre property located outside of Thomaston. Opportunities include archery hunting for deer, turkey and small game during state seasons. No ATVs or camping allowed. Hunters utilizing this area for deer or turkey hunting should be sure to check their game using Georgia Game Check and select Public Land option, Upson County, and then Camp Thunder VPA.
Voluntary Public Access Area
Camp Thunder is a Voluntary Public Access (VPA) property. Since 2014, the Wildlife Resources Division has been able to enhance and add to its WMA program through additional temporary agreements with private landowners for public hunting opportunities thanks to a USDA grant.

From Thomaston: Take Highway 74 west approximately 12 miles and go left on Thundering Springs Road, in approximately 2.4 miles the sign-in kiosk will be on the right.
