Dr. Laia Reig grew up near Barcelona, Spain and has ridden dressage and competed with horses from an early age. She earned her degree in veterinary medicine as the Valedictorian at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2013. Dr. Reig moved to the United States and completed an internship at Lexington Equine Surgery and Sports Medicine in Kentucky. She then completed a two-year Equine internship at Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center, Virginia, focusing on equine surgery and sports medicine. She continued developing her career at Cornell University by completing an Equine Surgery internship. Her professional interests include equine surgery, sports medicine, and poor performance in the sport horse. She enjoys hiking with her husband Bryan and their dog Sydney, riding dressage, cooking and traveling.
